It was billed as an “Elixir of Long Life,” and it was made up of a complicated blend of 130 herbs and plants blended into a tonic.

- 2 oz Chartreuse herbal liqueur
- 5 oz tonic water
- ice cubes
Instruction For Chartreuse Tonic
Combine Chartreuse and Tonic Water in an ice-filled glass. Serve with a lime slice as a garnish.
