History for Drambuie And Coffee
The tale claims that in 1745, the whisky liqueur was the drink of choice for one Prince Charles Edward Stuart.
Take this with a grain of salt. After numerous failed military and political maneuverings, he delivered the formula to John MacKinnon of the Isle of Skye, who assisted him in getting to safety.
The drink was then patented as Drambuie by a hotelier family in 1893 after the MacKinnons agreed to batch and sell what had previously been a hand-me-down family recipe.
