History for Black Velveteen Drink
A London steward designed the black velvet. It was served during the mourning period following the death of Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert, in 1861.
The drink has become so popular over the years that it has prompted a few companies to bottle identical concoctions.
However, these don’t usually last long on the market.
