History for Periodista Cocktail
When Paul O’Connell and Joe McGuirk were creating Chez Henri’s cocktail menu, they brought The Periodista to Boston.
They discovered the recipe in a “small tropical cocktail book,” a brochure that used to be distributed by liquor companies.
It asked for white rum, just like El Arte de Cantinera, but they preferred Myer’s dark rum. It was eventually put on the menu.
Ingredients for Periodista Cocktail
- 1 1/2 oz white rum
- 1/4 oz triple sec
- 1/4 oz apricot brandy
- 1/2 tsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1 twist lime peel
Instructions for Periodista Cocktail
Shake vigorously in a shaker over ice cubes. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of lemon peel and serve.
