History for Southern Hospitality Cocktail
This cocktail was created in a tavern in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in the 1970s, where the Crimson Tide football team plays.
While Alabama fans can enumerate the team’s 15 national titles dating back to 1925, no one seems to recall which pub or bartender was the first to combine Southern Comfort, sloe gin, amaretto, and orange juice in a glass.
Some fans believe it was originally intended as a “slam back” shot.
