History For Baker’s German Chocolate Brownies
German chocolate cake, also known as German chocolate cake, is a layered chocolate cake filled with a coconut-pecan filling and topped with coconut-pecan icing.
Its name comes from an English-American chocolate producer named Samuel German, who created a dark baking chocolate formulation that was later utilized in the cake recipe.
Its beginnings date back to 1852 when American baker Samuel German created dark baking chocolate for the Baker’s Chocolate Company. Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate, the product’s brand name, was named after him.
Ingredients For Baker’s German Chocolate Brownies
- 1 pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER’S GERMAN’S Sweet Chocolate
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instruction For Baker’s German Chocolate Brownies
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Foil the bottom and sides of an 8-inch square baking pan, stretching the foil over the sides. Set aside foil that has been greased.
- In a large microwaveable bowl, heat the chocolate and butter on HIGH for 2 minutes, or until the butter is completely melted. Stir until the chocolate has melted completely. Mix in the sugar thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour and pecans until everything is nicely combined. Spread into the pan that has been prepared.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. (Be careful not to overbake.) Allow cooling completely. Using the foil as handles, lift out of the pan. Remove the foil from the pan. To serve, cut the brownies into 16 squares.
